Leon Major, Director, is the Artistic Director of The Maryland Opera Studio for the University of Maryland, College Park, where he has directed many productions including Later the Same Evening (An opera, commissioned by The Clarice Smith Center for the Performing Arts and the School of Music in a joint project with the National Gallery of Art) inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper and operas by Handel, Monteverdi, and Mozart.
